The special bulletin was produced for distribution at EXPO '70 held in Osaka and to leverage the forthcoming Sapporo Winter Olympics held in February 1972. It was typeset and produced in Japan using Dept. XI generated imagery and guidance concerning grids and layout. A total of 450,000 copies were produced in Japanese and 50,000 copies in English. Japan Airlines took over distribution once EXPO '70 closed.
